My Personal Model of Practice
An Eclectic Approach
As a clinician I utilize a Perspectives model of practice, as I am of the philosophy that humans are immensely diverse and that precise rules about how to act do not allow for said diversity (Panye, 2016). This model of practice allows me to make decisions according to general guiding principles, which gives me flexibility to integrate a variety of different modalities into my practice as needed (Payne, 2016). I feel that no one modality is able to fully meet the needs of my clients. Therefore, I use an eclectic practice approach to take relevant pieces from several different modalities and blend them together as needed.I included a few of the different approaches and modalities I have learned to use as part of my clinical practice in the subsequent pages.
